Community members are invited to a program on food waste and how it impacts the environment, the economy, and the community on Saturday, April 8 from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. at the Northfield Public Library, 210 Washington Street.
Emily Dresbach, a Minnesota GreenCorps member, will discuss the different levels of the supply chain, where waste occurs, and different solutions for preventing that waste. She will also provide strategies that can be used at home to reduce personal food waste, and help you save money and the environment.
As a member of the Minnesota GreenCorps, Dresbach is working in the Rice County Environmental Services Department to help reduce the amount of food waste going to the landfill using a three-pronged plan of attack of reduce, reuse and recycle. She is a Nebraska native and St. Olaf College graduate with a degree in biology and environmental studies.

Reducir el desperdicio de alimentos con Emily Dresbach
Los miembros de la comunidad están invitados a un programa sobre el desperdicio de alimentos y su impacto en el medio ambiente, la economía y la comunidad el sábado 8 de abril de 10:30 a 11:30 a.m. en la Biblioteca Pública de Northfield, 210 Washington Street.
Emily Dresbach, miembro de Minnesota GreenCorps, hablará de los distintos niveles de la cadena de suministro, dónde se producen los residuos y las distintas soluciones para evitarlos. También ofrecerá estrategias que pueden aplicarse en casa para reducir el desperdicio personal de alimentos y ayudarle a ahorrar dinero y proteger el medio ambiente.
Como miembro de Minnesota GreenCorps, Dresbach trabaja en el Departamento de Servicios Medioambientales del condado de Rice (Rice County Environmental Services Department) para ayudar a reducir la cantidad de residuos alimentarios que van a parar al vertedero mediante un triple plan de ataque: reducir, reutilizar y reciclar. Su origen es de Nebraska y licenciada en bilogía y estudios medioambientales por el colegio St. Olaf.
