Trees in boulevards

Trees located on boulevards are the property of the City of Northfield. As such, they are maintained or removed under supervision by the city. Maintenance of boulevard trees is ongoing; areas of focus are rotated on a four to five year basis. The city works with a certified tree inspector to check trees in the event of storm damage or disease outbreak. Residents are encouraged to water boulevard trees during periods of dry weather.

Trimmings and brush

Property owners may take private tree trimming materials and other brush to the City of Northfield compost site. Limb size must be less than six inches in circumference. Professional tree trimming services, landscape contractors or other for-hire businesses are not allowed to drop off materials at the compost site.
