Northfield's homes and neighborhoods are a well-maintained blend of the historic and contemporary, with new developments still maintaining a connection to the city's architectural heritage. Diverse and affordable options are available to fulfill homeowner or renter preferences.
Mission
The mission of the Northfield Housing and Redevelopment Authority (HRA) is to be a partner in providing a sufficient supply of affordable, adequate, safe, and sanitary dwellings in Northfield.
Our goal is to create a community with housing opportunities available along the entire housing spectrum: from renters to homeownership, first-time homeowners to senior living, workforce housing, and empty-nesters.
We strive to create affordable housing opportunities and strengthen our neighborhoods using these components:
Sustainability
Innovation
Partnerships
Community Input
Financial assistance
First-time Homebuyer Program
The Northfield Housing and Redevelopment Authority offers a down payment and/or closing cost assistance program for qualified first-time homebuyers.
If you have experienced hardship due to the pandemic and need assistance to pay your rent or utility bills, you may be eligible for COVID-19 Emergency Rental Assistance.
The HRA supports homeownership through Single Family Rehab Loans, Aging In Place Grants, Manufactured Home Rehab Forgivable Loans, and Down Payment Assistance. While all funds are currently allocated to eligible applications, we do not anticipate that all of those funds will be spent. When that occurs, money will be made available for other eligible applicants.
Please complete the waitlist application if you wish to be contacted when funds are available to apply for.
