Overview
The TH 3 Traffic Signal Improvements Project includes the installation of an emergency vehicle preemption (EVP) on the TH 3 corridor from Second Street in Northfield to Hester Street in Dundas.
An EVP system allows emergency response vehicles a green light on their approach to a signalized intersection while providing a red light to conflicting approaches. In addition to the EVP installations, some signal revisions will also be performed along the corridor.
The proposed intersections for improvement include the following:
- TH 3 and TH 19 (Second Street) – signal revision and EVP system
- TH 3 and TH 19 (Fifth Street) – signal revision and EVP system
- TH 3 and TH 246 (Woodley Street) – signal revision and EVP system
- TH 3 and Jefferson Parkway – signal revision and EVP system
- TH 3 and Honey Locust Drive – signal revision and EVP system
- TH 3 and CSAH 1 (110th Street, Rice County) – EVP System
- TH 3 and Hester Street (Dundas) – EVP system
